I tried to windsurf around the channel markers, but didn’t have enough power above the shoal. The 4.6 (noted as 4.7 on graph; 4.7 is an error) was good in the gusts but too underpowered in the lulls to feel comfortable far from the dock. At 3:30 we were hit by a gust that must have been over 30—the water was whitecapped flat as if it were 18 inches deep. (This was not recorded by the sensor.) I used the gust for a magnificent jibe and Isabella used it to get to the dock—she was on her glass board. (My first jibe was the best, smooth and effortless.) After the gust it got so holey I could barely stand on my board.
